This torque-style necklace, a recreation of an ancient Greek museum artefact by the renowned Greek jeweler Ilias Lalaounis, who passed away in 2013. An expert in Greek antiquity, Lalaounis combined ancient goldsmithing techniques with modern-day jeweler-making technology to breathe new life into iconic Greek jeweler designs, from snake bracelets to this Greco-Roman torque necklace in gold, finished with balls of lapis lazuli. Lalalounis jewels remain highly collectible, and he has a museum devoted to his work in the center of Athens, near the Acropolis.
